Using connacto
connacto is a place for your AI assistant to keep track of things for you. No app to open, no spreadsheet to update. You talk, connacto remembers.
What connacto does
You tell your AI assistant what you want to track: a workout log, a reading list, a habit tracker, anything. The assistant saves it to connacto and reads it back whenever you ask. There is no dashboard to check and nothing to fill in by hand.
The things you can track are called modules. A module is a template for one kind of tracker. connacto ships with a set of built-in modules for common cases, and your assistant can define a new one on the spot for anything else. See every built-in module for what it tracks and what to say to use it.
Connect your AI assistant
connacto works with any AI assistant that supports MCP (Model Context Protocol), including Claude, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, and ChatGPT with connectors enabled. Add connacto as a connector or MCP server using this address:
{origin}/api/mcpMost clients ask for this as a JSON config, shaped like this:
{
"mcpServers": {
"connacto": {
"url": "{origin}/api/mcp"
}
}
}Setup steps, plan requirements, and limitations differ by assistant. Pick one below:
- 01Open claude.ai, click your account, then Settings.
- 02Open Customize, then Connectors. (Team and Enterprise: an Owner does this once under Organization settings instead.)
- 03Click Add custom connector, paste the endpoint URL as the remote MCP server URL, and name it "connacto".
- 04Click Add. Team and Enterprise members then open Customize, then Connectors, find connacto, and click Connect.
- 05Open a chat, click the tools icon, and turn the connacto connector on.
Free plan allows one custom connector; Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise have no set limit. Claude reaches your server from Anthropic's cloud infrastructure, not your device, so it must be reachable over the public internet.
Using something else? Any MCP client that supports a remote server over Streamable HTTP will work. Paste the endpoint above wherever it asks for a custom connector or server URL.
The first time you connect, your assistant opens connacto's login page in your browser. Log in (or sign up) and approve access once. After that, your assistant reconnects on its own and every request it makes is scoped to your account only.
Say what to track
Once connected, just talk to your assistant. A few examples:
- “Start a workout log for me and log today's session, 3x8 squat at 185 lbs.”
- “Track my reading. I just finished Project Hail Mary, five stars.”
- “I want a personal CRM. Add my friend Sam, we met at a conference last week.”
Your assistant checks which modules fit, creates a database from the matching one (or builds a custom one if nothing fits), and starts logging. Ask it to list, update, or delete entries the same way, in plain language.
Managing your trackers
Every built-in module you have used shows up on the home page once you are logged in, with a switch to turn it on or off. Turning a module off hides its tools from your assistant without deleting any data, so you can turn it back on later.
